Theres 2 way doing this. First using YM status icon, this will showing online and offline icon only and when clicked will open new window on YM. Your site guest need login to their YM . Second is using pingbox, its flash based showing ‘chat box like’ on your site.

If using status icon your email and guest address will revealed to each other, this is good if you want to keep track of your site guest and let your guest can contact you back. But don’t surprise if your YM start get spam message. Heres how to get your icon status presence on your web site.

YOURID is your yahoo email address

STYLEID is image option you can choose from 5 images just experiment with it to choose one you like, change it into number range from 1 to 5

Pingbox is more secure because it didn’t reveal guest and your email address. Guest didn’t need to login to their YM but instead just creating nickname in your ‘chat box like’ flash image but it’s dimension make some problem where to place it on your site. Each guest can only see their message and your message in pingbox while on your side when new guest contact you there will be new open window on your YM. Beside that this will make your site load slower cause it take more time to load flash image.  Your guest can’t type on your pingbox if you’re not online means your guest can’t leave offline message.
